Let me give you three great reasons why you should add beets (red or golden) in to your daily diet:
ANTIOXIDANT, ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, AND SUPPORTS DETOXIFICATION
Most people have not acquired the taste buds for beets which keeps them away from the many benefits that beets have to offer. I can completely understand that and although it takes quite a few tries to actually acquire the taste for something, my best recommendation is that you start adding it to your juice! REASON: you can’t taste it that much when mixed with other vegetables and/or fruits and you are getting all the nutritional benefits from it.
HERE IS A TASTY COMBINATION FOR YOU: detox juice
1 yellow (golden) beet raw
1 large carrot raw
1 lemon (skin removed)
a handful of blackberries (optional)
Blend all the ingredients together in a high speed blender for about one minute, I use the Nutri Ninja and it works great! With the help of a small strainer remove the pulp from the juice. If you have a juicer it will retain the pulp for you so you can skip this part. I have decided that a blender works better for my needs for its multifunctional purposes.
This juice is very tasty and you are going to notice little taste of the beets, the taste of the carrots will prevail. Lemon is a great addition to this combination because of its endless list of health benefits but it will also take away a bit of the strong taste of the beet and the carrot.
