Ola amigos! If you are not into hot peppers I hope this post will help change your mind. As you may or may not know hot peppers are on many health experts’ list of Superfood’s for its amazing benefits. They promise better digestion, an improved immune system, and better blood circulation and digestion. Hot peppers can also aid on weight loss by increasing your metabolism.
With all these great benefits its hard not to give it a try. Slowly introduce mild and sweet peppers into your diet and as your taste buds become resistant to the spiciness level move up to a higher level on the chart.
Two peppers of your choice (I used japaleno)
Cut up the peppers, onions and cilantro in small pieces (as shown in picture).
Next you will need to mix the peppers, onions and cilantro. Add enough olive oil and vinegar to cover the pepper mixture. Squeeze the juice of a half lemon into mixture. Cover and refrigerate.
This is an original and traditional molho picante recipe. Growing up in South America our meals were always served with “molho de pimenta”. You can simply pour a spoonful or desired amount directly into your food or you can add to the foods during the cooking process. Fishes in general taste great with hot peppers. Add a large spoon into your favorite salsa and serve it with chips. Or spicy up a soup! There are many ways to eat this wonderful food and great benefits when you try.
