As the warm days arrive I find myself searching for recipes that don’t require a lot of time near a hot stove. Foods that serve well at cooler temperature without sacrificing the taste and nutrition.
What it comes to mind is the easier the better. Sometimes you want to spend less time cooking and more time enjoying everything else and summer is a perfect time to make room for that.
When I think of pizza I think of easy food we can eat anytime of the day. Pizza is unquestionable an all time favorite food, and last time I checked this is true for most countries and cultures. What I love about pizza is that you can basically do anything you want with it. My Pizza Verde is a perfect combination of easy food, fun, tasty and nutritious.
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
1 Pk frozen whole wheat dough
2 cups arugula
1 cup mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup balsamic vinaigrette dressing
3 slices prosciutto
Spread the dough on to a pizza stone. Brush the dough with olive oil. Add as much or as little mozzarella cheese as you would like. Add pieces of prosciutto and bring it to oven at time and temperature determined in the dough package. After pizza is fully cooked let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Add your arugula and half cup of balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Your delicious Pizza Verde is ready to be served!
