Surf and Turf Steak and Lobster Dinner

This Surf and Turf Steak and Lobster dinner offers an unbelievably delicious meat and seafood combo, topped with some herb butter and a healthy side of grilled peppery romaine.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 2 NY sirloin steaks
  • 2 lobster tails
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • flaky sea salt and ground pepper
  • 1 lemon, juice

Compound Herb Butter

  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grounded pepper
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley
  • 1 clove garlic, pressed

Grilled Peppery Romaine

  • 1 head romaine lettuce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 pinch flaky sea salt
  • generous amount of freshly grounded pepper
  • lemon juice

Instructions

  • Season steaks with oil, salt and pepper. Set aside at room temperature for up to 30 minutes
  • Preheat grill on high heat. Spray cooking oil or brush grates with cooking oil.
  • Using a pair of kitchen scissors , cut the lobster lengthwise both on the belly side and top shell, but do not separate the tail.
  • Place steaks on the grill and cook on each side for about 3-5 minutes or until preferred doneness*
  • Also add lobster tails on to the grill, belly side down and cook until meat is no longer translucent and turns opaque white with red shells.
  • Grill seasoned romaine lettuce for 1-2 minutes. Remove from grill and add a splash of lemon juice
  • Allow the steak to rest for 5-10 minutes, covered.
  • Meanwhile prepare compound butter by mixing the ingredients in a small glass bowl**
  • Add a splash of lemon juice to the lobster and top with herb butter. Serve
