Nourishing Overnight Oats + Chia Bowl with Collagen Peptides. Your morning dose of wellness and rejuvenation in a simple recipe!
I love the feeling I get in the beginning of a new year. It is as if I have been granted permission to reset myself, re-think my steps, invite new habits and shed a few bad ones, and become a better version of me.
In many ways however, the beginning of a new day give us that same opportunity and sense of permission to set the path ahead of us. Mornings are indeed very special. The truth is, we have just woken up from a whole body and mind reset and what better time to reprogram ourselves, internally and externally to reflect the person that we want to become.
Internally our organs and digestive system have just finished with yesterday’s load and are now ready for… Well, this is the best part actually!
They are ready for the choices we make TODAY!
Everyday we are given the opportunity to better ourselves. Our emotions, our thoughts, the kind of energy that we want to give out and the kind of support we want to give our body through the food we eat. Which is why a healthy breakfast is so important, or as it is said -the most important meal of the day!
Mornings are also the best time to take a supplement(s) or incorporate them into our food or beverages.
One of my favorite ways to support my body and it’s natural aging process is by taking Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides
Collagen is the protein found in our muscles, bones, skin, blood vessels, digestive system and tendons. As we age, our natural production of collagen drops which results in a loss of elasticity and flexibility, wrinkles, joint pain, hair discoloration, etc. This amounts to the natural process of aging, however adding collagen to our diet can help our body regenerate and slow down this process.
This particular Vital Protein Collagen Peptides is unflavored which is super convenient to incorporate into my favorite foods and drinks. I also love the stick packs for an easy and convenient supplementation on the go.
While I take collagen everyday, in one form or another (see BONUS recipe below!), at least twice a week I add it to my oatmeal, which is by far one of the best food to eat in the morning because oats support brain health, helps maintain focus and fuel our body for longer periods of time.
This overnight oats and chia bowl is MEGA nourishing, quick and easy to prepare, delicious and comforting! This is my morning dose of wellness combined with a dose of rejuvenation from the collagen peptides and overall feel-good combo.
Talk about having a daily opportunity to refuel, replenish, nourish and make good choices for myself. It’s like planting a tiny little seed and watch it turn into a beautiful and fruitful tree, this simple practice gives me the daily strength I need while conjunctly defining the kind of future I want for myself 🙂
