Maple Caramelized Figs | Garden in the Kitchen

As much as I love to emphasize the importance of eating healthy and being mindfully selective about the foods you eat –>>(SUPER important!), this time you will hear me talk about the elephant in the room…

Sugar. Sweets. Finger licking foods!

The reason why I decided to bring this up is simple. These foods do exist, they are a big part of our lives, surrounding, culture, diet and oh yeah… they are delicious too! Now, how big are sweets part of your life is really only up to you to decide but if you want to hear what I think and what has worked for me… here are my two cents; Sometimes we must allow room for guilty pleasures where otherwise if kept unfulfilled, would create negative energy around said pleasure and negative energy is more deadly then sugar! …this, followed by honesty which is another super important component! Once you decide on what works for you (amount, portion, special occasion, day of the week), just be honest with yourself while keeping track, but DO enjoy while you are at it.

Combine the efforts! I often like to combine the pleasurable with the good-for-you stuff and this Maple Caramelized Figs recipe will do just that! While this recipe adds the perfect finishing touch to other desserts such as ice cream, cake, pudding and pie, you can also consider enjoying over the good-for-you options such as overnight oats, whole grain pancakes and avocado toast. This way you get the best of both worlds! Every ingredient matter. Hack yeah they do matter! It’s in the quality, it’s in the taste and it’s in the results you get, both in the outcome of your recipe and how the quality of that ingredient will have an affect on how you feel. I want to feel good even when eating desserts, don’t you? And finally, having a good relationship with food is key to self-control. I hope you enjoy this delicious Maple Caramelized Figs recipe and I would love to know how are you pairing this recipe!
