With just 5 ingredients and 5 minutes, you can whip up Sophia’s creamy, flavorful guac that tastes like it came from your favorite taco spot.

Perfect for dorm hangouts, solo study sessions, or bringing to a friend’s place, this Easy Guac Recipe proves you don’t need a chef’s kitchen to eat well.

Sophia’s guac recipe started one weekend while playing with ingredients in our family kitchen. Now, my college student is making waves with her 5-ingredient, 5-minutes guacamole recipe, and everyone wants to try it.

Word got around and everyone is asking Sophia for her guac recipe. Friends, family, college roommates, weekend parties, even while vacationing in our airbnb she was whipping up her much requested guac recipe, daily.

It’s fresh, delicious, and ready in just 5 ingredients and 5 minutes. Best part? Any college student (or anyone short on time) can make it, no fancy tools required, just simple ingredients and a fork.

Gut-friendly kimchi guacamole combines the bold flavors and health benefits of Korean kimchi with everyone’s favorite Mexican dip guacamole. This kimchi-guac combination is a must try!

Ingredients

  • Avocado – they should be firm with a gentle give when you press your fingers.
  • Tomatoes – she uses cherry tomatoes, they have less seeds and are easier to dice up into small pieces
  • Red Onion – they add a sharp, tangy flavor to the guac, plus offer a nice pop of color.
  • Cilantro – a must, Sophia suggests adding “more than you think you need to!”
  • Lime – a non-negotiable she says. “I like to squeeze the juice out with my hands”

Pantry staples that are also added to the guacamole are olive oil, sea salt and pepper.

Best chips to serve with guacamole

Sophia’s guacamole is the star of the show, but she needs the right supporting cast.

The perfect chip brings its own hint of flavor to the party. Sophia’s pick for the perfect chips or crackers to get that guac from bowl to belly are:

Late July Sea Salt and Lime – brings a hint of lime. According to Sophia this options is particularly ideal “if you are low on lime juice and need that extra boost of flavor”

CRUNCHMASTER Multi-Seed Crackers – extra crunchy and nutty, these baked crackers balances the creaminess of guacamole well.

Siete Sea Salt Tortilla Chips – keep the chip flavor to a minimum and let the guacamole shine with these mega crunchy chips.

Storage

Store leftover guacamole in glass air tight container for up to 1 day.

Top leftover guacamole with a thin layer of olive oil, to minimize air contact and therefore oxidation. Alternatively you can add a citrus barrier, like a layer of fresh lemon or lime juice.

Keep in refrigerator until ready to serve again. Give it a stir and serve. Top cilantro to freshen things up.

Easy Guacamole Recipe (5-ingredients, 5-minutes)

Easy Guacamole Recipe

by Silvia Dunnirvine
With just 5 ingredients and 5 minutes, you can whip up Sophia's creamy, flavorful guac that tastes like it came from your favorite taco spot.
Prep: 5 minutes
Total: 5 minutes
Servings: 6 people

Ingredients

  • 3 Whole Avocados
  • 1/2 cup Red Onion diced small
  • 3/4 cup Cherry Tomatoes diced small
  • 1/2 cup Cilantro chopped
  • 1 Whole Lime juiced
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • Sea Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Start by adding the avocado to a medium bowl. Smash it with a fork.
  • Add the diced onion, make sure they are diced really small.
  • Next add the tomatoes. Once diced small, Sophia recommends squeezing the tomatoes between her hands to remove excess tomato juice and seeds. Then add to the bowl.
  • The cilantro is next. Sophia takes her time chopping the cilantro into small pieces
  • Squeeze in all the juice from one lime. Sophia uses her hands and fingers quite aggressively, releasing some of pulp and flash into the bowl. It's her secret to a fresh limey guac.
  • Finalize the guac by adding sea salt and pepper, taste to make sure it is up to your liking. She definitely adds more sea salt than pepper. Add olive and still it all together.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite chips.
